The day we got married was the only day it rained (torential downpour) all summer long, specifically for the 20-30 minutes that we wanted to take pictures. I had always wanted to get married in the Salt Lake temple because that was what I saw pictures of so much when I was growing up and I thought we could have such pretty wedding pictures. Oh well! The funny thing is that up here in Logan it was beautiful, not a drop of rain in sight. I believe though, that there is a saying that if it rains on your wedding day it is supposed to means a good marriage.

ReplyDeleteYou asked on my blog about scripture study. We simply read from the Book of Mormon every morning at 6:45. My oldest Type-A personality wakes everyone up, then we read out of the "Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint families." I like that version because it breaks it up logically into smaller sections than just chapters. The littlest probably don't get a lot out of it, but they do learn the habit and usually it's cuddle time with mom and dad, too. After we read, about half of the time, I'll try to summarize what we've read or point out something they can understand, but mostly, we just read, and I have to hope that's good enough.
I do try to read from the Friend magazine and the scripture reader to the younger kids at other times during the day, but I forget to do that way too often. I'm trying to figure out a way to remind myself better on that.
